Quick commerce app development at Nexta, in short

Quick commerce app development means building the full system behind 10 to 30 minute delivery: a customer app, a picker app for the dark store, a rider app and an admin panel that keeps live stock in step with orders. Nexta builds it for supermarket chains, regional grocers and funded startups in India and abroad. It starts with a paid discovery sprint; a first single-store version usually takes 12 to 16 weeks.

Why quick commerce apps fail after launch

“The clone script looked fine until real orders came”

Demo data never runs out. Your shelves do. Most ready-made "Blinkit clone" scripts treat stock as a number typed into a form, so the app keeps selling items that were sold out twenty minutes ago.

“Orders for items that are not on the shelf”

A picker reaches the rack, finds nothing, and someone has to call the customer, wait, and then cancel or swap. One missing item can break the whole delivery promise for that order.

“Pickers walk the whole store for one bag”

If the picking list follows the order the customer tapped items, a picker crosses the store three times. On a busy evening those minutes decide whether you deliver on time.

“Riders idle at 3 pm, short at 8 pm”

You either pay riders to wait or you miss the evening rush. Without order history by hour and area, rostering is guesswork.

“Our billing counter and the app show different stock”

The shop sells over the counter, the app sells online, and both draw from the same shelf. If they do not share one stock figure, someone is always disappointed.

What our quick commerce app development covers

Customer app that only shows what you can deliver

Android and iOS apps (Flutter or React Native) that show stock for the dark store serving that pin code, a delivery promise that changes with load, UPI and card checkout through Razorpay or Cashfree, and live order tracking. Items run out in the app the moment the shelf count hits zero.

Picker app that follows your racks

Orders arrive on a handheld Android device with items sorted by aisle and bin, not by cart order. Pickers scan each item, mark shortages, and the substitution rule you set (same brand other size, or ask the customer) runs automatically.

Rider app and dispatch

Riders see the next bag before it is packed, navigate with maps, collect cash or UPI on delivery, and mark proof of delivery. Dispatch groups two or three nearby orders when that does not break anyone's promised time.

Store admin and live stock

One panel for each dark store: receiving, bin locations, stock adjustments, low-stock alerts, and a running list of what sold out today. Purchase suggestions are based on what actually moved, not on the last order.

Delivery zones and slots

Draw serviceable areas on a map, set a different promise for each zone and time of day, and switch to scheduled slots when the store is overloaded or the rain is heavy. Honest delivery times protect your ratings more than fast ones you miss.

Sync with your POS or Tally

If you already run a billing counter, we connect the app to it so counter sales and app orders draw from one stock figure. Day-end sales can go to Tally as vouchers so your accountant is not retyping anything.

Hosting that holds up during festival rushes

We host on our own TPHOST infrastructure or your cloud account, load test before Durga Puja and Diwali sales, and set up monitoring so a slow database is noticed before customers notice it.

From store walk-through to live orders

  1. 1Weeks 1-2

    Discovery sprint

We walk your store or planned dark store, map the floor, list SKUs and set a realistic delivery promise. You get screens, a feature list for version one and a fixed quote.

  2. 2Weeks 3-4

    Design and clickable prototype

Customer, picker and rider screens in Figma, tested with your actual staff on actual phones before any code is written.

  3. 3Weeks 5-12

    Build the core loop

Order to pick to pack to dispatch to delivery, working end to end for one store, with weekly builds you can install and try.

  4. 4Weeks 13-14

    Soft launch in one area

Live orders from a small radius and a limited catalogue. We watch pick times, cancellations and stock errors every day and fix what breaks.

  5. 5Weeks 15-16

    Store listing and handover

Play Console and App Store Connect submission under your accounts, staff training, and a written runbook for daily operations.

₹2,95,000 including GST

Custom software: a paid discovery sprint at ₹24,999 + GST (credited to the build) gives you screens, scope and a fixed written quote. Every price shows GST and the total. Nothing is added after you enquire.

How we work differently

We start with the store floor

The shopping screen is the easy part. Store layout, picking routes and substitution rules decide whether you deliver on time, so that is where the discovery sprint spends most of its hours.

Honest about 10 minutes

Ten-minute delivery needs dense demand, a tight radius and a dedicated rider pool. For most regional grocers a reliable 20 to 30 minutes is the better promise, and we will tell you which one your numbers support.

No clone script underneath

We write the system for your catalogue and your stores, and you own all of it: code, app store accounts, payment gateway, data. Nothing is locked to a licence that expires.

Servers and apps under one roof

Because we run TPHOST ourselves, the people who build the app also handle the servers, backups and monitoring. When something is slow on a Saturday night, you call one team.

Is this right for you?

A good fit if

  • Supermarket or grocery chains in a city that want their own delivery channel instead of paying marketplace commissions
  • Funded startups planning one or more dark stores with a clear launch area
  • Pharmacy, pet supply or speciality food retailers with steady repeat buyers in a small radius
  • Brands that already have a POS and want app orders to share the same stock

Probably not the right fit if

  • A single kirana shop with a few orders a day: a WhatsApp catalogue or a simple store website will serve you better
  • Anyone expecting to match Blinkit or Zepto on speed across a whole city in the first year
  • Projects where nobody on your side will own store operations day to day

Quick commerce app development: frequently asked questions

Something else? Call +91 7500-4300-91 or WhatsApp us.

It depends mostly on how many stores you start with and whether you need POS or Tally sync. A first version for one dark store, with customer, picker and rider apps plus admin, starts at ₹2,50,000 + GST. We begin with a ₹24,999 discovery sprint, credited to the build, so the quote you get is fixed and written rather than a range. Third-party charges such as maps, SMS and gateway fees are extra at cost.

A working single-store version usually takes 12 to 16 weeks from the end of discovery: design, the core order loop, a soft launch in one area, then app store release. Adding more stores, stock transfers and a promotions engine comes in later phases. Anyone promising a full Blinkit-level system in a few weeks is selling a script, not a system built for your stores.

Only if the numbers support it: a small delivery radius, enough orders per hour to keep riders busy, and a store laid out for fast picking with a few hundred to a few thousand fast-moving items. Many city retailers do better promising 20 to 30 minutes and hitting it every time. In discovery we look at your area and order estimates and recommend a promise you can keep.

Your product list with prices and barcodes if you have them, the store or warehouse layout, the areas you want to serve, and the person who will run operations. If you already use billing software or Tally, we need access to test the sync. Apple and Google developer accounts should be in your company name; we help you open them.

You do. The source code lives in your Git repository, the apps are published under your Play Console and App Store Connect accounts, and the payment gateway and servers are in your name. If you ever move to another developer, they get everything they need without asking our permission.

A standard grocery delivery app usually works on slots or same-day delivery from an existing shop. Quick commerce adds minute-level promises, so it needs a picker app, bin locations, substitution rules and rider dispatch that starts before the bag is packed. If slots are enough for you, see our food and grocery delivery app page; it costs less.

Usually yes. If your POS has an API or a database we can read safely, counter sales and app orders can share one stock figure. Day-end sales can also go into Tally as vouchers. We check this in discovery, because some older billing software allows only exports, which limits how live the sync can be.

Yes. We work with retailers and startups in the UK, the Gulf, Australia and North America, with fixed quotes in USD, GBP or AED on request. We set up local payment gateways and map providers for your country and schedule calls in your working hours. The ownership and handover terms are the same as for Indian clients.
