How much does an e-commerce website cost in India?
By the Nexta Web Solution team · Updated
The short answer
With us, a Shopify store costs ₹34,999 + GST to set up, a WooCommerce store starts at ₹59,999 + GST, and custom or multi-vendor stores start at ₹1,50,000 + GST. Then there are monthly costs: the platform plan (Shopify) or hosting (WooCommerce), payment gateway fees on every order, shipping, and apps or plugins. For most small sellers, the monthly costs matter more than the build cost over three years.
Build cost by platform
| Option | Build price | With GST | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shopify Starter | ₹34,999 + GST | ₹41,299 | Most small and growing brands that want little maintenance. |
| WooCommerce Store | From ₹59,999 + GST | From ₹70,799 | Sellers who want full control and no platform fee. |
| Custom or multi-vendor store | From ₹1,50,000 + GST | From ₹1,77,000 | Marketplaces, B2B ordering, unusual pricing or large catalogues. |

What pushes the price up
- Product count and variants, especially if we upload them.
- Custom design instead of a premium theme.
- B2B pricing, wholesale tiers or customer-specific rates.
- Integrations with Tally, an ERP, or a marketplace.
- Subscriptions, bundles and custom checkout rules.
- Multi-vendor features: vendor dashboards, commissions, payouts.
Shopify or WooCommerce?
Shopify is easier to run and has fewer things to break; you pay monthly and per transaction. WooCommerce has no platform fee and more freedom, but needs hosting, updates and security care.
