Server automation that turns tribal knowledge into code you own
Your servers get set up, patched, backed up and deployed the same way every time, by playbooks sitting in your own Git repository. Nobody has to remember the steps, and nobody holds the business hostage by being the only one who does.
- Priced per project after a free call, based on the number of servers and which tasks you want automated, with the fixed figure sent in writing within a day of the call.
- A real person on WhatsApp within 15 minutes, Mon–Sat 10 am–7 pm IST, in Bengali, Hindi or English.
- You own the work. Code, files, accounts and data stay in your name, with an NDA on request.

Server automation at Nexta, in short
Server automation services replace manual server chores with tested code. Nexta writes Ansible playbooks, Terraform files and scripts that build new servers, apply patches, run backups with restore checks and deploy your application in a repeatable way. It suits businesses running 2 to 50 Linux or Windows servers. Work is quoted as a fixed project after a free call, most first phases finish in 2 to 4 weeks, and the code is yours.

Signs your servers run on memory, not process
“"Only one person knows how the server was built"”
The setup lives in someone's head and an old WhatsApp chat. If that person is on leave during Durga Puja or leaves the company, a simple rebuild becomes a week of guesswork.
“"Every new server comes out slightly different"”
One has PHP 8.1, the other 8.2. One has the firewall rule, the other does not. You only find out when something works on staging and fails in production.
“"We patch when we remember"”
Updates happen in a hurry after a scare, by hand, on a live server. When an update breaks something, nobody can say exactly what changed or how to roll it back.
“"Backups run, but has anyone tried a restore?"”
A cron job copies files somewhere every night. Whether those copies are complete, and how long a full restore takes, is a question nobody wants to test during an outage.
“"Deployments are FTP uploads at midnight"”
Releases mean copying files, clearing caches and hoping. A missed file takes the site down, and the fix is another manual upload under pressure.
What our server automation services cover
Codify the servers you already have
Most clients do not want a rebuild. We first read your existing servers and write their current state as Ansible roles: packages, users, firewall, web server, PHP or Node versions, cron. From then on, a new server can be built to match in minutes.
Provisioning with Terraform and cloud-init
For AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, DigitalOcean or Indian VPS providers that support it, we describe machines, disks, networks and DNS in Terraform. cloud-init handles first boot, so a fresh server comes up with SSH keys, time sync and the base hardening already in place.
Scheduled, staged patching
Patches roll out to one server first, then the rest, inside an agreed window. A playbook takes a snapshot or backup, applies updates, restarts services in order and checks that the site responds before moving on.
Backups that prove they work
We automate database dumps and file backups with tools such as restic or Borg to off-site storage, with encryption and retention rules. A monthly job restores the latest backup onto a scratch server and reports whether it came back clean.
Repeatable deployments
Code goes from Git to the server through a pipeline in GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, or a simple Ansible deploy if that suits your team better. Each release is versioned, so going back to the previous one is a single command.
Routine jobs and runbooks
Log rotation, SSL renewals, disk clean-up, user onboarding and offboarding become scheduled tasks. Next to each playbook we write a short runbook in plain English, so a person can still follow the steps if the automation is ever unavailable.
Windows servers too
Where you run Windows Server, for Tally, a file share or a .NET app, we use Ansible over WinRM or PowerShell DSC for updates, users and settings. Mixed Linux and Windows estates are common in Indian offices and we plan for both.
How an automation project runs
- 1Day 1-2
Free call and inventory
We list your servers, what runs on each, who touches them and which chores hurt most. You get a fixed written quote within 24 hours.
- 2Week 1
Read-only discovery
With read-only access we capture the current configuration and note risks we find on the way, before we change anything.
- 3Week 1-3
Write and test on a copy
Playbooks and Terraform files are built against a clone or a staging server. Every change is run in check mode first so you can see what it would do.
- 4Week 2-4
Roll out one server at a time
We apply automation to production in a window you choose, starting with the least critical server, with a rollback plan written down beforehand.
- 5Final week
Handover and training
You get the repository, the runbooks and a recorded walkthrough in English, Hindi or Bengali for whoever will run it after us.
What you get
- A Git repository in your GitHub or GitLab account with all playbooks, roles and Terraform files
- Ansible inventory describing every server and its role
- Patch playbook with pre-checks, snapshot step and post-checks
- Backup jobs to off-site storage plus a monthly automatic restore test
- Deployment pipeline or deploy playbook with one-command rollback
- Secrets stored in Ansible Vault or your cloud secrets manager, never in plain text
- Plain-English runbook for each automated task
- Recorded handover session and a list of known limits

If you are not sure where to start, our cloud & server health check (₹9,999 + GST) maps your servers and tells you what is worth automating first. Cloud and backup storage costs are billed at cost.
Every price shows GST and the total. Nothing is added after you enquire.
Why teams hand this work to Nexta
We run servers ourselves
Nexta operates its own hosting brand, TPHOST, so provisioning, patching and backups are daily work for us, not theory. The automation we write for you comes from habits we rely on for our own machines.
Your code, your accounts
Everything lives in a repository you own, using standard open tools. If you change provider later, the next engineer can read it without needing us.
Small and boring on purpose
We automate the tasks you repeat most, not every possible task. A few dependable playbooks that your team understands beat a clever framework nobody can maintain.
Check mode before any change
Every playbook is run as a dry run on your servers first, and you see the planned changes in writing. Nothing surprises your production site.
Is this right for you?
A good fit if
- Businesses with two or more servers or VPS that should be set up the same way
- Agencies and SaaS teams launching new client servers every month
- Companies where one person holds all server knowledge and that is a risk
- Teams that want patching and backups to happen on schedule, with proof
Probably not the right fit if
- A single shared hosting account: there is nothing to automate, a website AMC suits better
- You need someone to run your cloud day to day, including cost control and on-call: see cloud operations management
- You want automation but will not allow any test window or staging copy
